Frequently Asked Questions For Opening A 1st Community Credit Union Account Online:

What type of products and services does 1st CCU offer through online account origination?

1st CCU offers Primary Savings, Ultimate Savings, Money Market, Share Draft (Checking), and 1st Rewards Checking account through the online account origination process.

How long will it take for my account to be given a decision (approved/denied)?

Some members will be approved instantly and can complete the entire new account process in minutes. In some circumstances a 1st CCU team member will need to review first. In these circumstances the application will be given a decision no later than the next business day. You will be sent an email when the application is given a new decision, and updates will be displayed when logging back into the application.

What information will I be required to provide for myself?  What about a joint individual?

To get started, you will need:

  • To be 18 years old
  • Have your SSN
  • Have a government-issued ID (drivers license, state identification, passport, or military ID)
  • Be able to enter and validate joint account information
  • Have routing and account number or debit card number to fund your new account

Do I need to complete the application in one session, or can I come back to it at a later time? If I can come back, is there a timeframe that I must complete the application before it expires?

The process does not need to be completed in one session. A profile will be created for you using the email and password you select during the beginning stage of the application process. If you do not finish in one session, you will use this information to login to your profile and complete your application.

After starting the application you have 30 days to complete the application. If the application is not completed in this time, you will need to start a new application.

I need to change some information that I submitted within the application, how can I do this?

Simply navigate through the application and make the necessary changes. Once items have been submitted to 1st CCU, they can no longer be changed online. Reach out to a 1st CCU team member for next steps by calling 888-706-1228.

Is electronic funding required?  If not, what other options do I have to fund my account?

Electronic funding is required. This can be done with a debit card, or an electronic (ACH) deposit.

Can I open an account if I'm under 18?

You must be 18 years or older to open an account using the online process. 1st CCU does offer Minor Accounts, but these need to be opened in one of our 3 branches (Sparta, West Salem, Tomah).
