How do I register for Online Banking?
You, and all joint owners on your account, will need to sign an enrollment form.  Ask a Member Service Representative for an Onling Banking enrollment application during your next visit to the credit union, or contact us via email (general@1stccu.com)* or phone (608-269-8121 or 1-888-706-1228) and request that an application be mailed to you.  Once all owners of the account have signed the enrollment application you may return it to the credit union in person or by mail and we will activate your enrollment within a day or two.

*E-mail is not secure and information can be read by others.  Do not e-mail information such as passwords, social security numbers, account numbers, mother's maiden name, etc.

  • Rules for choosing a user name and password:  User names must start with a letter and may contain letters, numbers and/or certain symbols (@ . - _ ).  Passwords may not be longer than 14 characters.

How do I access Online Banking once I'm enrolled?

As soon as your account has been set up for online banking, you may log in to www.1stccu.com.  Find the Online Banking field under our logo.

Enter the first eight digits of your account number (with no dashes or spaces) as your user name
(ex: if your account number is 1234567-8-00, then you will enter 1234567 8

Enter your Password - for your first log-in, this will be the last four digits of the social security number of the Primary Member listed on the account

NOTE:  After your first log-in you will be prompted to change your user name and password to something of your choosing for security reasons

Why am I being asked to choose a security image?
1st CCU's Online Banking features Two-Factor Authentication; a 'second layer' of security to safeguard the privacy and security of your personal information.  The first layer of protection is your user name and password.  This second layer is a security image that you choose from 50 provided images.  When you enter your user name your security image appears on the screen - this is a way for you to verify that you are at the correct site and not a phishing site.

To Set up Two-Factor Authentication:
Step 1 - Select a security image from 50 provided images
Step 2 - Enter an email address or email-to-text address
Step 3 - You will receive a Challenge PIN via email or text message

Step 4 - Open a new browser window to check your email or check your cell phone for your Challenge PIN
Step 5 - Enter the provided PIN after your username
Step 6 - Select whether or not to authorize your computer.  A Public computer is one that other people can access, such as a computer at work, at the library, etc.

When you have completed this short setup process, you may view your account activity, make online transfers between accounts, make loan payments, view cleared checks, and more. Once you have authorized a computer, the next time you log in using that computer the system will display your security image, letting you know that it is safe to enter your password.  Authorizing your computer bypasses the need for a Challenge PIN when you access Online Banking from that computer.  You only want to authorize computers that are not used by other people, since authorizing reduces the security infrastructure because you are no longer prompted to enter a Challenge PIN.  If you are unsure whether or not to authorize a computer, choose Public so you enter a Challenge PIN every time.

What if I can't access the Online Banking page?
When our members are having trouble accessing Online Banking, 99% of the time we are finding that enabling TLS 1.0 will fix the problem. This setting occasionally defaults to No during installation of browser updates and needs to be reset to allow access.  Follow these steps:
  1. Log onto the internet
  2. Click on TOOLS on the internet tool bar
  3. Click on Internet Options
  4. Click on the Advanced Tab at the top of the window
  5. Scroll down toward the bottom until you see USE TLS 1.0
  6. Place a check in the box to enable TLS 1.0
  7. Click on Apply
  8. Click OK

After you have enabled TLS 1.0, try to log into Online Banking again. These are the instructions for Internet Explorer. If you use another browser, access your Internet Options-Advanced tool and place a checkmark in the TLS 1.0 box.

If you are still having problems accessing Online Banking after updating your TLS 1.0 setting, check your security settings.  For example, you must allow Cookies when using 1st CCU Online Banking.   If you have enabled Cookies for 1st CCU and you still cannot access Online Banking you may give us a call and we will try to assist you.

What if I forgot my password?

You may click on Forgot My Password and the system will automatically assist you by sending an email to the email address entered on 1st CCU's system.

If you are having problems logging into Online Banking you may call 1st Community Credit Union and speak to a Member Service Representative.  After we verify your identity, we can assist you with resetting your online account access.

I haven't used online banking in many months and now I can't log in. Why?
Your online banking access may have been automatically disabled because of too many unsuccessful login attempts.  Please contact 1st Community Credit Union for assistance with resetting Online Banking.
