The 1st CCU Visa Gift Card is a prepaid debit card that is loaded with a dollar amount chosen by the card purchaser (minimum $5). It carries the Visa logo, like any Visa credit or check card, but because it is a prepaid card, your spending is limited to the amount of funds available on the card. The 1st CCU Visa Gift card can be used almost anywhere that accepts Visa. Each time you use your card the amount is deducted from the card balance.

Most gift cards can only be used at a particular store. The 1st CCU Visa gift card can be used at millions of places that accept Visa.

Do I need to register my 1st CCU Visa gift card?
Yes, we recommend that you register your gift card. If your card is lost or stolen, we will have your information to replace your card. Go to www.atiracard.com to register your card. It's easy and quick to do. Registering your card gains you access to view your transactions on-line, and also check your balance.
What if I don't want to or choose not to register the card?
You will still be able to use the card for the full amount of the loaded value. Just be aware that carrying an unregistered card is like carrying cash. If you drop a 1st CCU gift card with a loaded value of $50, it is like dropping a $50 bill. Anyone would be able to pick it up and spend it.
How do I know the value or balance of my 1st CCU Visa gift card?
The value of your card will be noted in the materials that came with your card at the time of purchase. These materials provide important information including the terms and conditions for using your card, so please read them carefully before using your gift card.
Once you have registered your card at www.atiracard.com you will also be able to see your initial value and ongoing balance.

What else should I know about making a purchase with my 1st CCU Visa gift card?
You can verify the remaining card balance by visiting www.atiracard.com or by calling 800-721-3978 before you go shopping. We advise you to know your card balance before you shop, as many merchants cannot determine the balance on your card. If you try to purchase an item of greater value than your card balance, your card will be declined. You will need to have a second form of payment to pay the difference.
What do I do when I want to purchase an item that costs more than the balance on my card?
Can I return a purchase made on my 1st CCU Visa gift card?
Yes, depending on the merchant's return policy.
Can I use my 1st CCU Visa gift card at gas stations?
Yes, BUT - we recommend you pay inside the gas station, not at the pump. You should be aware that some pay at the pump terminals are programmed to seek an automatic authorization "hold" amount which may be above your purchase amount. Many pumps seek an authorization for $75 and this amount could increase from time to time. If you do not have $75 on your gift card, the transaction may be declined. Paying for gas inside the station should eliminate declined transactions and automatic authorization hold amounts.
Can I use my 1st CCU Visa gift card for online or telephone purchases?
Yes - however, you must first ensure your card has been registered at www.atiracard.com. Be sure the name, address, and telephone number on file is exactly the same as the information you provided to the merchant. If the information is different, the transaction may be declined.
Does my 1st CCU Visa gift card have an expiration date?
Yes - the expiration date is on the front of the card. Be sure to spend the funds on your card prior to the expiration date.
Are there any fees for using my 1st CCU Visa gift card?
The maintenance fee is waived for the first 6 months. Beginning on the first calendar day of Month 7 from the purchase of the card, your card will begin decreasing in value by $2.50 per month. Refer to the terms and conditions provided with your card for specific information about time frames and fees.
Can I load more funds on my card?
You cannot reload your 1st CCU Visa gift card; however you may purchase additional cards at 1st Community Credit Union.
What should I do with my 1st CCU Visa gift card when the balance reaches zero?
Keep your card in case you may need to return an item purchased with the card; if not returning an item, dispose of the card as you would with other personal information.
